'The Book Of Hopes And Dreams

Read what people have said about 'THE BOOK OF HOPES AND DREAMS

'This anthology is bursting with poetry from some famous names: Carol Ann Duffy, Tony Harrison, Margaret Atwood, Elaine Feinstein, etc. There are many contributions from the less well known that in no way diminish the high standard the editor's selection achieves..... The book is teeming with fine poetry. Buy it and you will not only be buying a hundred and twenty pages of reading delight, but also, and more important, supporting a much needed charity.'
Michael Bangerter (from a review in New Hope International)

'The anthology is fantastic, and it has served as a major inspiration for me to continue to write every single day, for the poetry in it is genuinely high quality and uplifting. I have not been able to stop writing since it came out, and I carry it around with me everywhere, opening it before every writing session.'
Mike Matthews

'The Book of Hope and Dreams is a well chosen, thoughtful collection of poetry chosen as much for the quality of the work as for its uplifting message. If you buy this book you’ll be doing good, not just for the people who benefit from your money, but for yourself. Let’s hope that Rimbaud starts a trend.'
Magdalena Ball (from a review in The Compulsive Reader)

'Contained within its pages are many poignant and heartfelt poems. Those that stand out for me are by writers who seem to have the knack of expressing very simply their belief in the power of the human spirit and what it can achieve under duress.... The impressive rollcall of poets who have donated their poems to this cause indicate that they share the aspirations of Spirit Aid. Of course it can never be enough simply to donate a poem to broadcast the existence of a particular charity, but at least it’s a start and this book will bring a lot of pleasure to those who buy it and spread the word.'
Genista Lewes (from a review in Stride Magazine)

'The lines within these pages pushed me, pulled me, jerked me sideways, gave me hope, made me sigh, reflect, want to change and because I am a poet myself, made me want to write..... Children, love, reflection on childhood, prayers for the future and celebrations of life and relationships abound between the covers of 'The Book Of Hopes And Dreams'. These references may make you think, 'slushy', 'sentimental' or 'trite', but it has none of those characteristics. It is up to the mark modern poetry at its best. It is fresh, moving, thought provoking and so right for this project. I really hope that you feel encouraged by my few words to try it for yourself and at the same time, make a valued contribution to such a worthy cause.

'This Anthology finds its strength in its use of variety, looking at the main theme from all possible angles, a lot of the poems juxtapose images of natural beauty with images of war and its effects, but manage not to overlap in contect, illustrating the diversity of opinions and beliefs surrounding conflict. It has such a large variety of writing that any reader can find at least one poem that will make them think. This Anthology is definitely worth your money, as well as lots of good poetry it has been produced for a good cause.'
June Craven (from a review in Libertine Magazine)
